What’s on this June in Grimsby?
June is upon us, the sun is out and Grimsby is in full Summer swing! There’s plenty going on this month around the area, but here is a few of our favourites:
Festival of the Sea:
Festival of the Sea returns to Grimsby on Saturday 22 June 2024 for the fourth year running! Celebrating Grimsby’s seafaring heritage and future relationship with the sea. With a community-led programme of live music, arts and crafts, workshops, performance and walkabout acts, this one-day FREE event will showcase an exceptional array of local and national talent. Drop-in sessions all day long will get you engaged in hands-on activities on Grimsby’s rich maritime heritage. There’ll be activities for all ages on the festival day, plus more leading up to the event. Why not stay with us here at St James and make the most of the festivities?
Grimsby 10k:
The Great Grimsby 10k is in its 9th Year and will take place on Sunday 2nd June from the iconic Great Grimsby Town Hall. The route is flat and fast but caters for all running abilities. From the seasoned club runner to the newbie runners who love the camaraderie around the fantastic route. The local community give endless support at this race, in the past they have come out with hosepipes and drinks to cool runners down! To get you around the route there will also be lots of music, bands, entertainment, three water stations and a jelly baby station. Need a bed for the night? We’ve got you covered here at St James.
Sarah Millican: Late Bloomer at Grimsby Auditorium:
When Sarah Millican was a bairn, she wouldn’t say boo to a goose. Quiet at school, not many friends, no boobs til she was 16. Now? NOW she is loud, with good friends, a cracking rack and goose booing all over the shop. In Late Bloomer, Sarah’s brand-new stand-up show, she explores how one became the other. Plus, lots of stuff about dinners and lady gardens. Come along, laugh at her, with her, beside her on June 27th at The Grimsby Auditorium, just down the road from us at St James.
