Windsor Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

Windsor Platinum Jubilee Beacon Lighting and Fireworks
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations officially commence on June the 2nd! The celebrations in Windsor will begin with the lighting of the Windsor beacon as part of the National Beacon lighting. Across the UK and in each of the Commonwealth countries’ capital towns, beacons will be lit to commemorate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Once the sun has gone down, the Windsor beacon will be lit on the Long Walk. The festivities will include music and entertainment at the Beacon site, making it the perfect event for the whole family to kick off the exciting long weekend!

Jubilee Concert in St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle
On June 3rd, St George’s Chapel will host a variety of entertaining musical performances to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The music will feature a diverse range of songs from all across the British Isles, amplified by the chapel’s incredible acoustics! Aside from the exciting entertainment, you can also get the chance to admire St George’s Chapel spectacular architecture, built in the late-medieval century, the Gothic design of the chapel is truly captivating. The concert will be hosted by Petroc Trelawny, who presents breakfast and live concerts on BBC Radio 3.

Jubilee Picnic in the Park
A fun-filled afternoon has been organised for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Saturday the 4th of June. Taking place on the Long Walk in Windsor, there will be a variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy! Listen to music whilst admiring stunning classic cars starting from 1952, commemorating the Queen’s 70-year reign. There will be a range of musical performances taking place throughout the afternoon and into the evening, including music from local bands and solo artists. We invite you to bring your Union Jack flags and gather around the big screens that will be broadcasting the national Platinum Party at the Palace. Make sure to pack a picnic and come and enjoy The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee for free!

Cookham High Street Jubilee Party
Cookham is a charming, quaint village located in Berkshire, only a short drive from Burnham Beeches Hotel. Cookham High Street will be closed to traffic on Sunday the 5th of June to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The High Street will be beautifully decorated with flags and bunting to commemorate the Queen’s 70-year reign. We invite you to come celebrate with the local community, where there will be 75 tables and 500 chairs for people to relax and enjoy good food and conversation. Bring a picnic or visit one of the many restaurants on the High Street, which will be open as usual. There will also be live music, competitions, and children’s entertainment, all completely free! What’s not to love!

Windsor’s Big Lunch – the long table
Lastly, to finish off the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, a big lunch will be held in Windsor on Sunday the 5th of June. The event has been organised by The Big Lunch, which began in 2009 and encourages communities to celebrate their connections and get to know each other better! Enjoy delicious food and drink as the weekend of celebrations comes to a close. Everyone is invited, so reserve your seat at the long table or bring your own picnic feast!
