5 Reasons to visit London in January

Bright lights, frosty nights and shop windows a-glow… January is a great time of the year to visit London after the Christmas rush. Fancy a city break? Join us at Corus Hotel Hyde Park and explore the capital, right on our doorstep.

January Sales

While the sales often start online on Boxing Day, nothing beats the thrill of hunting on the high street. Oxford Street, where flagship stores rub shoulders, sees its prices plunge after Christmas. The sales usually linger through January, so you have plenty of time to explore and bag the best deals.

Winter Walks

London is stunning in the winter…now we can’t promise the snow, but we can promise beautiful scenery and a great British attitude towards the cold (and sometimes rainy) weather.  Hyde Park, where we are located is particularly pretty at this time of year.

Discounted Theatre

Continuing to look for a bargain in the new year…January is a great time to see a show in London. That’s because of the numerous London Theatre promotions running, offering discount tickets to London’s best plays and musicals.

Christmas Activities Continue

One of the reasons January shines in London is that its festive makeover spans past December. The city’s ice rinks often remain open into January – one of the best places to ice skate is Somerset House which is open until 14th January.

Fewer Crowds:

January is often overlooked as a time to visit London, which, as it turns out, can be quite beneficial! With fewer tourists meandering the streets, you’ll find a more relaxed pace pervades the city. Major landmarks  usually teeming with visitors, are less crowded. This allows you more time to appreciate these historic sites without feeling rushed or cramped.
